Jane Cibelli

Jane grew up in England riding and showing horses eventually moving onto the thoroughbred world at the age of 18; realizing that working with and around horses had become a lifelong passion. At the age of 21 she headed to the United States to gallop at Payson Park – and from there ventured to various tracks throughout the country.

After nearly 20 years experience exercising and/or working as an assistant trainer Cibelli branched out on her own to open a public stable after a training accident forced her to stay on the ground. “After breaking my back in 2002 realized it is now or never to get serious about training horses – I am very fortunate to have many people who supported me early in my career that I still train for to this day. “ said Cibelli.

She bases her operation at Monmouth Park, NJ in the summer and Palm Meadows, FL in the winter months. “Being at Monmouth allows me the opportunity to compete throughout the mid-Atlantic region to exploring all possibilities for your horse” said Jane. “When stabled in Florida I race primarily at Gulfstream giving my clients chance to place their horses where they fit best however I also ship to Tampa when appropriate.”

Jane credits her hands on approach and communication with her clients as key factors to her success – “I won’t sugar-coat anything but I will give you an honest assessment of your horse – that is what I think clients value most!” continued Cibelli.

Matt Hartman

Matt has spent his entire life around horses, whether on the farm, school or at the racetrack horses have been in the picture. Growing up in North Carolina Matt can not remember a day without them.

After finishing school Matt ventured to Louisiana to earn an equine science degree from Louisiana Tech and upon graduation he transitioned to the racetrack under the tutelage of Hall of Famer Jack Van Berg. In 1991 with Van Berg's help Hartman obtained his trainers license and operated a public stable for a number of years.

After a move back to the east coast to Delaware Park,  Matt assisted veteran trainers Eugene Weymouth, Robert Camac and Dale Capuano before a seven year stint with the Maryland Vet Group at Laurel Park.

Prior to joining Jane's barn Matt also worked as an assistant trainer for conditioner Michael Pino both at Delaware Park and Gulfstream.

One of Matt' s favorite pastimes is scuba diving and has travelled throughout the Caribbean enjoying the sport!
